Barbara A. Bagwell, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and educator, peacefully went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2024 at the age of 96. Born on May 10, 1928, Barbara grew up with a passion for learning and helping others. She pursued her education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. Her commitment to lifelong learning led her to earn a Master’s in Education from the University of Chicago at the age of 40. On August 9, 1953, Barbara married the love of her life, Richard S. Bagwell. Together, they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage until Richard’s passing on August 10, 2004. Barbara’s life was centered on her family, education, and faith, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard, and her daughter, Maureen Leah Miller, who passed away on January 11, 2020.
